Our work has been regularly followed-up across the British press – in the Daily Telegraph, Daily Mail, Guardian and Sunday Times. It has also generated coverage in The New Statesman, Computer Weekly and Arabian Business.
In 2008 the Channel 4 News Special report “identity theft threat to homes” was part of the winning Channel 4 News entry at the 2008 WorkWorld Media Awards. In 2007 the undercover investigation which found children aged as young as twelve working for two of Tesco’s suppliers in Bangladesh was shortlisted for the 'Best Broadcast feature' Business Journalist of the Year Awards 2007.
The Tesco film was also used by Jon Trickett MP as a key part of his lobbying to get the supply chain amendment (companies have to detail all their suppliers) incorporated into the Companies Act. This year as a result of our investigation into some of the biggest companies hired to help the long-term unemployed, the Work and Pensions Committee announced an Inquiry into the management of employment programmes.
